US, JAPAN, FRANCE BACK PH VS PROVOCATIONS OF CHINA IN WPS

Manila Philippines — The governments of the United States, France, Japan, United Kingdom and European Union have expressed support to the Philippines over to the latest harassment of the People’s Republic of China’s ships against the re-supply team in Ayungin Shoal.

In the most recent re-supply mission conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Chinese ships once again blocked the military troops that were about to deliver supplies to BRP Sierra Madre.

Allied countries of the Philippines also condemned the dangerous maneuvering of Chinese ships inside the country’s exclusive economic zone.

The National Security Council condemned the latest incident of harassment made by the Chinese Coast Guard and Chinese Maritime Militia Vessels which impose danger to Philippine troops. 

“We strongly condemn the illegal, aggressive, and reckless actions of the PLA-N, CCG, and CMM. Their actions put at risk the lives of our personnel and damaged our boats, in blatant violation of international law,” NSC Adviser insisted. Secretary Eduardo Año.

The Department of National Defense (DND) promised that the government will do its duty to continue to protect the integrity, territory and sovereignty of the Philippines.

“We will exert our utmost in order to fulfill our sworn mandate to protect our territorial integrity, sovereignty, and sovereign rights,” according to Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. in a statement.

Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino is calling on the Department of National Defense (DFA) to bring the issue of blocking the re-supply mission to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva.

According to Tolentino, with the help of the Geneva Convention, it could facilitate the delivery of supplies to Navy personnel stationed at BRP Sierra Madre.

“… the Geneva Convention can facilitate the necessary humanitarian aid to our Navy personnel living in BRP Sierra Madre and would pave the way for the delivery of the needed food supplies by our soldiers therein.

Hoping for your consideration,” Tolentino said in the recommendation he sent to the DFA.

The Chinese embassy has not yet made a statement.
