HANOI, Vietnam –President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received praises from the leaders of Vietnam as the Philippines ranked 2nd fastest looming economy in Asia.
In a concluded state visit of President Marcos in Vietnam, Vietnamese President Vo Van Thoung congratulated Marcos for the socio-economic, foreign policies, security and defense achievement of his administration, since he sat down in the office as the country’s chief executive.
“I would like to congratulate the Philippines on remarkable socio-economic, foreign policies, security and defense achievement under your able leadership. Since you assumed the presidency with a lot of breakthroughs such as for economic development,” Viet Nam President Vo Van Thoung said.
Marcos’ 2-day official visit to Vietnam aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship of both countries.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chin made an assurance to President Marcos and Philippines to works with connectivity towards economic goals of the two countries.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has recorded 5.6% year-on-year economic growth for the year 2023.
With this, the Philippines has placed as second fastest growing economy in Asia.
Meanwhile, President Marcos has emphasized the vital role of parliamentary cooperation with Vietnam to maintain the long withstanding relationship of both countries.
Including the national security, and socio-economic development between two countries.
The president also opens the initiative of Vietnamese government for the Philippines’ taxation system, universal health care and digitalization.
“The vibrant discussions with parliamentarians across the region in an open and trusting environment helped achieve our common objective of promoting understanding, collaboration, and commitment to advance peace and development in the region,” Marcos said.
The country’s chief executive hopes for more bilateral visit and relations with Vietnamese towards economic goal.
