Manila, Philippines – Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theressa Lazaro has formally introduced to the public the new spokesperson of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Former Consul General of the Philippine Consulate Office in Toronto Canada, Angelica Caraos Escalona, has been appointed as the new spokesperson, replacing Ambassador Teresita Daza.
Escalona has assured to deliver timely and accurate information to the department, particularly amid the ongoing tensions in the South China Sea and Indo-Pacific Region, current foreign relations, and the forthcoming hosting of the Philippines for the ASEAN next year.
At the same time, she expressed gratitude for the position bestowed upon her by the office.
Prior to this position, she also served as Consul General in Manado Indonesia, Deputy Consul General in Honolulu Hawaii, and political officer at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo Japan and Jakarta Indonesia.
