JULY EMPLOYMENT RATE FALLS TO 94.7%, LOWEST SINCE 2024

Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported a decline in the employment rate in the country in July 2025, posted at 94.7%.

This percentage is equivalent to 46.05 million Filipinos who were employed in July, showing a significant decrease from April’s 48.67 million.

Based on PSA’s labor force surveys, this July rate is the lowest employment rate in the Philippines, not only in 2025, but in 2024 as well.

Despite the decrease, the highest total employment rate was from the service sector, followed by industry and agriculture.

Cordillera Administrative Region recorded the highest employment in July with 96.6%, while Bicol region is the lowest at 92.3%.

Consequently, the underemployment and unemployment rate in the country spiked in July, with 14.8% and 5.3% respectivity.

This percentage reflects 2.59 million Filipinos with job or business in July 2025, posing the highest unemployment rate in the Philippines in the 1st half of 2025, passing 2024 records.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
