CAVITE REP. BARZAGA EYES IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINT VS. PBBM

Manila, Philippines – Amid an ethics complaint and a controversy of his own, Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga goes beyond the chamber of the Congress in criticizing the government in Gen Z ways.

Riding with the talks of corruption scandals in the country, Barzaga has been consistent in denouncing alleged corruption in the Congress, former Speaker Martin Romualdez, the Senate, as well as Malacañang and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. himself.

On October 4, Barzaga called for the removal of Marcos from his post.

Consequently, Barzaga urged the public to join the call, and unite for a people power, anti-corruption rally on October 12.

This call alone seemed like it’s not enough, with Barzaga revealing on Wednesday plans to file an impeachment complaint against the President.

If pursued, this will be the first impeachment complaint filed versus Marcos.

While the complaint remains unofficial, Malacañang easily shrugged off the move.

Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Claire Castro dismissed the weight of the possible complaint, saying that the President has no time to deal with this theatrics.

Castro also dismissed Barzaga’s allegations on corruption inside Malacañang, urging him to provide evidence to make the accusations believable.

She added that if the complaint is pursued, the matter is up to the Congress and not on the Palace to dwell.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
