In a video released by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), President Raul Rocha personally expressed his disappointment over the behavior and actions of Nawat Itsaragrisil, the national director of Miss Universe Thailand and founder of Miss Grand International.
This follows Nawat’s heated exchange with Miss Universe Mexico, Fatima Bosch, at the just-concluded sashing ceremony.
In the official social media post of the MUO, Raúl stated that he will not allow the values of respect and dignity for women to be compromised.
As this year’s host country of Miss Universe, Nawat should not forget to provide a meaningful experience for every contestant representing the 122 countries around the world.
He added that he was personally upset about what happened between the two and other candidates where Nawat allegedly lacked respect and it needs to stop
Because of Nawat’s actions, her participation in the competition as part of the 74th Miss Universe will be limited or possibly be completely removed.
Meanwhile, in his final statement, Rocha emphasized that Miss Universe is a platform for women to have their voices heard all over the world.
On his Instagram story, Nawat has already apologized to Miss Universe fans.
