ICC ARREST ORDER VS. DELA ROSA STILL AN ‘ALLEGATION’, SAYS SILG REMULLA

Manila, Philippines – November last year when Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla announced that an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) is already out for Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.

This is in relation to Dela Rosa’s role as the previous administrations’ PNP Chief during the implementation of the war on drugs campaign, the same case faced by former President Ridrigo Duterte before the ICC.

Since this pronouncement, Dela Rosa have not appeared in the Senate even during the budget deliberations period.

Almost three weeks in 2026, there is still no arrest order against Dela Rosa have publicly surfaced.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla reiterated that they have not received yet a copy of the said warrant.

Contrary to the Ombudsman’s statements, SILG Remulla said that the arrest order against dela Rosa remains as allegations.

He however acknowledged that some individuals claimed to have seen a copy of the warrant, but further clarified that most government agencies of the Philippines have not received any formal ICC arrest warrant.
