SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAYS DECLARED IN CEBU FOR THE 48th ASEAN SUMMIT

Manila, Philippines — Malacañang Palace has issued Proclamation No. 1239, declaring May 6 to 8, 2026 as special (non-working) days in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu, as well as in the municipality of Cordova.

The declaration aims to support the hosting of the 48th ASEAN Summit and its related meetings in Cebu, while also helping ease traffic congestion and ensuring the safety and smooth movement of delegates.

The proclamation was signed under the authority of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and implemented by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto on May 5, 2026.
