DFA: NO REPORTS OF INJURIES, CASUALTIES AMONG FILIPINOS IN VENEZUELA FOLLOWING TWIN QUAKE

Manila, Philippines – No Filipinos were reported injured or killed in the 7.1 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck Venezuela, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

However, the DFA continues to monitor the situation in Venezuela, following two strong tremors recorded off the northern coast of Venezuela.

The Philippine embassy is also coordinating with Filipino nationals in Caracas and Barina.

The DFA said Filipinos are advised to stay in safe areas and stay updated on developments.

President Ferdinand Marcos also extended his condolences to Venezuela following the devastating earthquake.

The president said Filipinos stand in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and hope for the safety and speedy recovery of the affected communities.
