Baguio City, Philippines — Public Order and Safety Division (POSD) of Baguio city releases an official ordinance, intensifying the operations against sticker vandalism as part of its ongoing effort to maintain the city’s cleanliness, public order, and securing road safety.
POSD Chief Daryll Longid said they will manage clearing operations in affected areas ensuring its guard against those maintaining the act in violation of the city’s Anti-Graffiti Ordinance with its cooperation along Baguio City Police Office.
Together with Chief Daryll Longid, the BCPO under its Director P Col Ruel Tagel have stepped forward for surveillance efforts and clean up operations in vandalized public or private spaces. Additionally, citizens have noticed the increase of unauthorized stickers damaging traffic signs and posts, specifically along Session Road and other main roads.
“Aside from making the city look untidy, these stickers can cover important traffic information and pose risks to motorists and pedestrians” said by Longid. Moreover, Longid emphasizes that the city will enforce a strict ordinance and adopt a zero-tolerance policy against violators.
Furthermore, those who are caught placing stickers or any forms of graffiti on public or private property without the owner’s permission may be charged up to P5,000, imprisonment for up to 30 days, or both.
