Washington, USA — Last week, United States President Donald Trump banned three major news outlets in America to enter and cover inside the White House.
This is after he accused them of reporting “FAKE NEWS” and said they should not be allowed to “constantly write or report FICTION and LIES” while covering the President of the United States.
The independent news declared were CNN, MS NOW, and POLITICO.
And just days later, the three media outlets filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration.
In a joint statement on Monday, CNN, MS NOW, and POLITICO said that they notified the government of the lawsuit.
According to them, the move was to protect and defend their rights as a media.
They said that Trump’s ban threatens their press freedom and the public’s right to independent journalism, especially when it came without due notice or process.
In his Truth Social post, Trump slammed the outlets upon the development, describing them as Third Rate Clowns who twist information that make it seem negative for anything he does.
The US President said that he will appeal the lawsuit.
On the other hand, as an act of solidarity, other major tv networks from America suspended their coverage of Trump’s public events over the White House ban.
