The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has relieved the head of its Police Clearance Section from the current assignment following a viral complaint alleging delays in service at Quezon City Hall.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte in statement on social media said her office referred the concern to the QCPD after speaking with the complainant.
The complainant reported that police personnel were allegedly singing and celebrating a colleague’s birthday while applicants waited for assistance on October 12.
In a statement, the QCPD said the section chief’s relief was an administrative measure pending the investigation and did not determine whether any personnel were liable for misconduct.
It also urged the complainant to submit a formal complaint and supporting evidence to help establish the facts.
Belmonte also personally apologized to the concerned citizen and assured the public that steps would be taken to prevent a similar incident.
