Bangkok, Thailand — Flood began to recede after several days of continuous heavy rain in Bangkok, Thailand, affecting approximately 700,000 residents of the city.
Despite the continuous efforts of city officials to alleviate the flooding, some major roads are still closed due to the flood.
Additionally, the water level in the four main canals has also risen, making them unable to accept runoff water from the surrounding countries.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt declared a flood emergency on Saturday for over 50 districts, even though some of them were not majorly affected.
According to him, the authorities prioritize providing assistance to the affected residents, especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities, in distributing relief goods and relocating them to shelters.
Meanwhile, knee-deep floods are being experienced in some parts of the train station and mall in the Bang Kapi District.
Regardless of the flooding in the affected areas, residents continue to come there to buy their supplies and food.
