The lawmaker expresses confidence that the constitutional amendment will be enforce in the senate after Senator Chiz Escudero secured the Senate President position on May 20.

This was the statement of Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Dalipe, despite Escudero expressing his opposition to the amendments to economic provision.

“I am optimistic that under Senator Escudero’s guidance, Congress will take positive strides toward achieving the economic constitutional reforms advocated by the President,” Dalipe said.

Dalipe emphasized Escudero’s invaluable experience as a lawmaker to serve the country and the public. Meanwhile, House Speaker Martin Romualdez is also confident in the leadership of Escudero as Senate President.

“The House of Representatives remains steadfast in its commitment to passing legislation that promotes the welfare and progress of our country. Under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s administration, we have laid out comprehensive programs and initiatives aimed at uplifting the lives of millions of Filipinos.”

Moreover, in the press conference at the senate, Senate President Escudero stated that he has no intention of changing his stance in Cha-cha.

“We will discuss it on the part of the majority. But you know my position and I have no plans of changing my position,” Escudero answered in the press conference.

Escudero also said that the hearings related to the constitutional amendments will not happen as Senator Sonny Angara also resigned from his position as Chairperson of the Senate subcommittee on constitutional amendments and revision of codes, committee on Finance, and committee on Youth.
