ONE DEAD, 30 INJURED DUE TO TURBULENCE HITS SINGAPORE AIRLINES

Bangkok Thailand — One person was killed while at least thirty passengers were injured after severe turbulence hit Singapore Airlines flight SQ-321 from London to Singapore.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok due to strong clear-air turbulence (CAT) as explained by the aviation experts.

The management of Singapore Airlines has already extended its condolences to the family of the 73-year-old British man who died due to the incident.

“Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. We deeply apologize for the traumatic experience that our passengers and crew members suffered on this flight,” the airline said in a statement.

The said plane has 200 passengers while its crew members are 18.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed that five Filipinos were among the Singaporean Airlines passengers.

Based on the information of the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, it informed the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that the five Filipinos who were on the plane bound for Singapore are staying in the hospital in Bangkok.

“…we received information from BKPE that they are still in a hospital in Bangkok,” the DFA said in a statement.

It is said that the cooperation of the Philippine embassy in Bangkok continues with the condition of the Filipino passengers of the Singaporean Flight.
