President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday urged members of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) to closely coordinate with their political allies as they begin preparing for the 2025 midterm elections.
Speaking at the PFP General Assembly and National Convention in Manila, Marcos emphasized the importance of sincerity in working with allied parties to secure a successful outcome in the upcoming polls.
“We have to be sincere about the alliance that we are creating with other parties. Kailangan sincere tayo, at tutulungan natin sila, at magtutulungan talaga tayo. It’s really the best way, syempre may synergy yan,” Marcos said.
He added, “Kapag naging maayos ang usapan natin, together with other parties, mas magiging maliwanag ang eleksyon, even down to the municipal level.”
The PFP has previously forged alliances with Lakas-CMD, National Unity Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition, and Nacionalista Party, forming the largest political bloc in the Philippines.
“Let’s get down to as much detail as we can, but remembering that we are doing this in consonance with other parties who have their own interests. Syempre may bigayan yan, but we as PFP we stand by our members,” he reminded.
Marcos also urged members not to become complacent, stressing the need for a well-organized campaign.
“We still have to be well-organized. A lot of the campaign depends on how organized the campaign is. Kahit na magaling ang kandidato mo, kahit handa kang gumastos ng malaki, kapag hindi maayos ang campaign mo, wala ring mangyayari,” he warned.
Marcos highlighted the importance of striking a proper balance during campaigns, sharing advice he learned from his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
