MANILA — K-pop legend G-Dragon made a powerful return on Thursday with his new single, Power, his first solo release in seven years since 2017’s Kwon Ji Yong EP.
In the music video, the 36-year-old artist confidently moves through a studio, repeating the refrain, “I got the power.”
The video later shifts to a train set where G-Dragon joins a group of dancers, delivering dynamic choreography that reflects the song’s energetic beat.
Ahead of the release, G-Dragon offered fans a sneak peek of Power on the popular Korean show You Quiz on the Block and during an Instagram Live session.
Fans can also look forward to his return performance at the MAMA Awards in November, his first appearance at the awards show in nine years.
G-Dragon originally debuted with BIGBANG in 2006, a group that went on to sell over 140 million records globally.
While BIGBANG originally had five members, it now operates as a trio, following Seungri’s 2019 retirement after the “Burning Sun” scandal and T.O.P’s 2023 departure.
