Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reiterated the Philippines’ strong support for Palestine’s quest for peace and prosperity as he joined the global community in observing the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
In his message Wednesday (November 27, 2024), Marcos expressed grave concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing the urgent need for all parties (between Israel and Hamas) to avoid escalating violence and work toward a peaceful resolution.
He condemned the attacks on civilians and infrastructures, which have caused numerous casualties, particularly among women and children, and have hindered access to essential resources.
“The Philippines calls for rapid, safe, and unimpeded humanitarian access to those in need,” Marcos stated.
“The Philippines extends its full support for all initiatives that are geared towards the revival of the peace process and the achievement of a lasting and just solution to the Middle East conflict,” Marcos added.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed annually on November 29.
