Manila, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is set to roll out its first Philippine polymer (FPP) early next year.
Scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2025, the polymer series will initially include the P500, P100, and P50 denominations.
In a social media post, the BSP said new polymer banknotes will have “smarter, cleaner, and stronger” features.
Meanwhile, the BSP assured the public that existing paper banknotes will remain valid and will continue to circulate alongside the new polymer bills.
The central bank is expected to reveal more details about the design, specific features, and rollout schedule of the FPP banknotes soon.
