Davao City, Philippines — Former President Rodrigo Duterte is stepping in as a collaborating counsel for her daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte to defend her against three impeachment complaints filed at the House of Representatives.
Vice President Duterte revealed the statement during a family event, “Pahalipay sa Pasko,” an annual gift-giving activity, December 25, sharing that her father offered his assistance.
She noted that he is currently completing requirements with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) to formalize his role as part of her legal team.
Likewise, VP Duterte said her team conducted an inventory of cases based on reports and statements from government agencies, including the House of Representatives, the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The impeachment complaints against the Vice President include accusations of betraying public trust, among others.
The Vice President, however, remains confident in her standing, asserting that she has not committed any devious act.
