TEVES UNDERWENT APPENDECTOMY AT PGH, NOW RECOVERING

MANILA, Philippines — Former Negros Oriental congressman Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr., who is currently detained, underwent surgery early Wednesday for appendicitis at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

His lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, confirmed that the operation was successful and that Teves is now recovering.

It can be remembered that Teves was rushed to the hospital early Tuesday after suffering from severe stomach pain. Doctors later found that he had acute appendicitis.

He was transferred to PGH on Tuesday night, June 17, where the surgery took place at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

“I am very happy to report that the operation on Rep. Arnie Teves at the Philippine General Hospital was successful. He is now recuperating well,” Topacio said in a statement.
