LTO ORDERS NATIONWIDE CRACKDOWN FOR IMPROPER PLATE DISPLAY ON MOTOR VEHICLES

Manila, Philippines – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has instructed all Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) and the authorities to strengthen the implementation of roadside inspections of the proper display and attachment of license plates of motor vehicles across the country.

According to the issued Memorandum Order under Section 18 of the Republic Act No. 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, this law mandates that every vehicle is required to “prominently display” their license plates at all times.

“This campaign aligns with the standing directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Transportation under Secretary Vince Dizon to ensure road discipline and improve overall transportation safety across the country,” the Land Transportation Office said.

The authorities are also encouraged to inform and assist motor vehicle riders in using the online LTO Plate Tracker.

In line with this, the Regional Law Enforcement Section (RLES) strengthened the enforcement of regular field operations in Western Visayas under LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II.

“Director Geduspan emphasized that all personnel must strictly enforce regulations on the proper attachment of license plates, especially as the agency prepares for the implementation of a “No Plate, No Travel” policy next month,” the LTO added.

LTO-6 Regional Director Jeck Conlu also expressed his support for the policy and he said that he is ready to collaborate with the assigned personnel in its implementation.

The agency also reiterated that the motorcycle riders should cooperate in submitting the vehicle registration requirements to avoid any violation. | via Shaina Morales, Contributor
