NSC SAYS CHINESE ENVOY BYPASSED OFFICIALS’ PROTOCOL OVER ‘WIRETAPPING’

Manila Philippines – The Chinese Embassy in Manila allegedly bypassed the government official of the Philippines over obtaining unconfirmed information –  violation of the Wire Tapping Act, according to the National Security Council (NSC).

According to NSC Adviser Secretary Eduardo Año, the Chinese Embassy in Manila violated Philippine law and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, even those involved in malign influence and interference in the operation of a country.

“Those individuals in the Chinese Embassy responsible for violating Philippine laws and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and those responsible for these malign influence and interference operations must be removed from the country immediately,” Año said in a statement,  Friday.

Because of this, it is said that those behind the unauthorized recordings between Vice Admiral Carlos and the official of the Chinese Embassy should be held accountable to the law.

“…now releasing spurious transcripts or recordings of purported conversations between officials of the host country – should not be allowed to pass unsanctioned or without serious penalty,” the official added.

The NSC issued this statement as a support of Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr.’s earlier statement which lead to spreading false information.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has yet to say whether they will file a protest against the Chinese embassy official.
