CAVITE,PHILIPPINES – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced the 30-day suspension of toll fee collection for vehicles passing through the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex).
According to Marcos, the Toll Regula Board (TRB) approved the recommendation of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), the operator of Cavitex, for a one-month toll holiday on the expressway from July 1 to July 30.
The TRB is the governing body that oversees tollways across the country.
He said, he thanked the TRB for their prompt action on the PRA’s recommendation.
Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), which maintains the expressway, is a unit of Metro Pacific Investments Corp headed by Manny Pangilinan.
The President added that the toll holiday will help motorists reduce the impact of the increase in fuel prices.
The 1.9-kilometer expressway connects Cavitex Radial Road 1 from the ParaƱaque Toll Plaza to the Sucat Interchange and is expected to benefit about 23,000 vehicles a day.
