STA. CRUZ, MANILA FIRE VICTIMS RECEIVE RELIEF AID FROM SEN. BONG GO

During his fire visit in Brgy. 310 on February 8, where displaced residents temporarily shelters, Go turned over the reliefs and assistance for the affected individuals, in which he emphasized importance of life amid lost and damages brought about by the incident.

“A lost life is a lost life forever…importante buhay tayo ngayon, magtulungan tayo, at bumangon tayo. Alam kong masakit masunugan, ngunit importante ang buhay. Kaya ‘wag kayong mawalan ng pag-asa, magtulungan tayo,” he said during his turn-over message.

It can be remembered that by the end of January, a fire broke out in the said town, which left at least a thousand individuals homeless. Despite the incident, there were no reported deaths and major injuries from the fire.

In line with his visit, Go has secured distribution of various kinds of reliefs, alongside programs from government agencies , in benefit of the affected residents.

These reliefs included grocery packs, water containers, vitamins, facemasks, basketball and volleyball for youth, t-shirts, wheelchairs and crutches, and two (2) bicycles and two (2) cellphones which were raffled.

Aside from these reliefs, Go has also pledged that there will be assistance from various government agencies, such as National Housing Authority (NHA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), that will provide assistance and support for the victims.

Furthermore, he urged the said agencies for faster relief response., including the DSWD and DTI, which, he said, will come back to provide livelihood programs for the affected residents.

‘Yan naman po ang aking [i]pinangako sa inyo, basta kaya po ng aking katawan, makatulong sa mga pasyente, makatulong sa mga nasunugan, makatulong sa mga proyektong nakakapag-unlad ng inyong bayan, at makapag-iwan po ng kaunting kasiyahan sa panahon ng inyong pagdadalamhati,” Go stated.

Meanwhile, aside from the reliefs and assistance, Go also expressed other plans and programs that aims to benefit Filipinos, especially in sports and health sectors which are his main focus as the committees’ chairman.
