Manila, Philippines – In line with the observance of National Heroes Day, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on the public to fight corruption and abuse.
This comes amid the ongoing investigation into the multi-billion peso controversial flood control projects in the country, which the President also highlighted in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July.

The President led the commemoration of this special day for heroes, personally offering flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
He also delivered a message, paying tribute to Filipino heroes whose names were never written in the pages of history.
According to President Marcos, honesty is innate among Filipinos and can be seen in the farmers, fisherfolk, teachers, healthcare workers, and everyday laborers who keep the spirit of bayanihan alive.
In closing, the Chief Executive urged Filipinos to fight against the deprivation of their rights.
In accordance with Republic Act No. 9492, series of 2007, National Heroes Day is celebrated every last Monday of the month of August.
