PALACE COUNTERS VP SARA REMARKS ON CORRUPTION INVESTIGATION: SHE NEEDS READING GLASSES, HEARING AID

Manila, Philippines – Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday blasted anew administration’s ongoing investigations on anomalous flood control projects.

In an interview after attending the House budget deliberations alone, Duterte criticized the late and almost unnecessary measure of the government against corruption.

Duterte particularly questioned the formation of an Investigating Committee when the President himself already knows who are involved and who should be punished.

Following this, Malacañang Palace rode on the banter, arguing that this is all part of the President’s plan to end corruption.

In Tuesday’s Press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that all the President’s moves are with significance, and if VP Sara sees a fault, then the problem is with her.

It can be recalled that an Independent Committee for Infrastructure was formed aimed at investigating the anomalies, outside the Senate and House’s probe, as some lawmakers were named as involved in the alleged corruption.

Castro underscored that Marcos is not the type to pursue quick investigation, taking a jab at the former administration’s war on drugs campaign.

Castro also dared VP Sara that if she has solutions to end corruption, she should advise it to her own father, former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

She further revealed that VP Sara cannot do it because her father has admitted to be corrupt himself.
