Manila, Philippines – An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is still awaiting execution in Kuwait for allegedly killing his employer’s son.
According to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Foreign Employment and Welfare Services in Kuwait has appealed the OFW’s case.
The Kuwaiti Criminal Investigation Department arrested a Filipino in December 2024, but authorities only sentenced her to death on Wednesday.
For now, the DMW assured that their support for the domestic helper’s family continues.
According to DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, they are working to provide proper education and guidance to the OFW’s family, particularly the minor children of an OFW.
This includes sending a legal team to push for justice for the OFWs who are on a death row.
Meanwhile, the Philippine government is also monitoring the OFW’s situation to ensure that his rights are respected.
