BI NABS RUSSIAN VLOGGER OVER HIV SCARE

Manila, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit arrested a Russian vlogger in a viral video, threatening to deliberately spread HIV.

In an operation, Nikita Chekhov, 21 year old Russian national, was apprehended inside a condominium unit in Quezon City.

This arrest is in relation to his now unavailable Tiktok video filmed in Taguig, threatening to spread HIV while he is in the Philippines.

He arrived in the Philippines on January 15 as a tourist, from Shanghai, China.

Netizens immediately expressed concern over these video contents Chekhov posted on his Tiktok and other social media accounts.

Aside from the verbal HIV scare itself, online users expressed alarm over Chekhov being usually sighted in public places like malls and public transportations.

Last year, Quezon City government recorded an increase in HIV cases in the locality, from which 40% are students.

Authorities cited these videos as rage bait contents spreading concern and fear among online users and residents.

Following his arrest, Chekhov is currently at BI’s detention facility awaiting fror deportation proceedings.

BI warned foreign nationals who spread fear and disrespects locals are not welcome in the country.

Earlier, Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy who have been subjected to undesirable acts and pranks in BGC was deported.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
