PH THIRD CHARTERED FLIGHTS FROM MIDDLE EAST, ARRIVED IN PASAY

Manila, Philippines – About 317 Filipinos from the Middle East were safely repatriated this Thursday aboard the government’s third chartered flight.

They were part of six chartered flights funded by the government for the evacuation of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from countries in the Middle East, as part of the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro, as Chair of ASEAN, assured that the government prioritizes labor migration towards cooperation, economic growth, and its participation in the business forum.

Amid the oil crisis and the economic impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Migrante Pilipinas has formed its own group to help Filipinos in the Middle East who are allegedly not being reached by government aid and support.

But they are worried about how to evacuate more than 2.5 million Filipinos based in the Middle East, in case the conflict worsens.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar condemned the Iranian attack on Ras Laffan Industrial City that caused serious damage to the facility.
