Tel Aviv, Israel — This week, mediator Pakistan announced that there is now a peace agreement between the United States and Iran nearly four months since tensions in the Middle East started.
It can be recalled that on February 28, 2026, the world was stunned after the United States and Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran.
The conflict quickly spread across the region, resulting in numerous casualties and causing significant disruptions to the global economy.
Aside from Iran, Lebanon was among the hardest-hit countries, as Israel intensified military operations against the militant group Hezbollah.
And with the agreement now in place, a memorandum of understanding is scheduled to be signed in Switzerland on Friday.
However, Tel Aviv has distanced itself from the deal.
In a post published on X, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that, “With an agreement or without an agreement, Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”
as long as he remains Prime Minister.
He reasoned out that the struggle is “not over” and that Israel must continue to defend itself, despite flaunting significant achievements in operations against their foes.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will continue neutralizing threats in the region while strengthening its national security.
The Prime Minister was referring to Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, both of which said places and its civilians have been heavily affected by the conflict.
He also stated that the Israel Defense Forces will maintain their presence in security zones across the two areas and Syria.
Meanwhile true to his core, international reports indicate that Israeli forces killed four people in southern Lebanon this Tuesday.
