Manila, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has announced that Filipino citizens can now obtain a visa-on-arrival to the United Arab Emirates using their passports.
According to the DFA, Filipinos are also required to present their valid visa, residence permit, or green card issued by the United States of America, European Union member states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Canada, and New Zealand.
The validity of the visa for Filipinos will last for fourteen days, and it is possible to extend it once for an additional 14 days at a cost of 250 United Arab Emirates Dirhams or more than four thousand pesos.
The 60-day visa to the UAE also costs 250 UAE Dirhams but is not extendable.
The visa-on-arrival to the UAE is effective today, June 25.
Meanwhile, in a notice issued by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, starting July 1, the cost of visas for Filipinos will increase.
According to the new regulation, a single-entry visa that used to cost 15,000 Japanese Yen (Php5,700) will now cost 30,000 Yen (Php11,400).
The cost of a single-entry visa to Japan also depends on the purpose and nationality of the applicants.—Alvin Pelobello, Eurotv News
