Valenzuela City, Philippines — Opisyal nang nai-turnover ngayong September 15 ang 333 housing units sa Valenzuela City sa mga pamilyang noo’y naninirahan sa tabi ng Tullahan River at Manila Bay.
Pinangunahan ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pamamahagi ng nasabing yunit ng pabahay sa Arkong Bato, Disiplina Village na relocation site para sa mga informal settlers.
Bahagi ito ng Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program ng administrasyon na nagsimula noong 2023.
“One of the problems we are facing now is the successive rains and flooding. Whenever there is such a danger, our home is the first place where we expect to take shelter. This is where our children should be safe, and where we should be able to rest without fear,” saad ni Marcos.
Dagdag niya, karamihan ng mga pamilyang nakalipat sa Disiplina Village ay mga naninirahan sa mga lugar na madalas bumaha.
Sa kasalukuyan, mayroon nang 5,549 na indibidwal na ang naninirahan ngayon sa Disiplina Village, ayon kay Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian.
Samantala, mayroon pa ring 3,306 na Informal Settlers (ISFs) ang naninirahan pa rin sa Tullahan River.
