PBBM, ASSURED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THOSE AFFECTED BY TYPHOON AGHON

Manila Philippines — The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured the financial assistance to those affected by Typhoon Aghon.

This includes the allocation of funds for humanitarian assistance and food funds.

In a statement, President Marcos said that his administration has distributed more than P1.2 million in aid, and he said that more than P3-Billion in standby funds, prepositioned goods allotted for quick assistance to those affected by the typhoon, are also ready. Agon.

“We have distributed more than PhP 1.2 million in humanitarian assistance, and we have prepared more than PhP 3 billion worth of standby funds and prepositioned goods and stockpiles, to ensure wider and faster assistance for our countrymen affected by typhoon #AghonPH,” Marcos said in a statement.

Authorities in Quezon Province confirmed that three people died including a seven-month-old baby during the height of the typhoon.

According to the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), seven people have been injured as a result of the typhoon’s devastation.

Nearly 20,000 people have been affected by the typhoon, equivalent to 8,465 families in 158 barangays in Luzon and Visayas.

Due to typhoon Aghon, face-to-face classes and government offices remain suspended in most parts of Luzon, including Las Piñas City, Quezon Province, Laguna, Sto. Tomas, Batangas, Aurora Province, Tanauan, Batangas, and Carmona, Cavite.

Tropical Wind Signal number 2 is still up in Dinapigue and Palanan in Isabela; Baler, Dipaculao Dinalungan, Dilasag and Casiguran in Aurora, and Pililo Islands.

Signal number 1 in most of the Eastern part of Nueva Ecija, Eastern part of Bulacan, and Northeastern portion of Laguna.

According to the Weather bureau, typhoon Aghon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of ​​Responsibility on Wednesday.
