Manila, Philippines — Good news for government workers!
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved an increase in the year-end gratuity pay for contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers in government.
From P5,000 last year to P7,000 this year, this adjustment is mandated under Administrative Order (AO) 28, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on December 19, Thursday.
It recognizes the contributions of contractual workers in delivering vital government services, especially amid ongoing socio-economic challenges.
The order covers COS and JO workers in national government agencies (NGAs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and local water districts (LWDs).
Those who have served at least four months as of December 15, 2024, will receive the full P7,000.
Workers with shorter service will receive the following amounts:
- Three to less than four months: P6,000
- Two to less than three months: P5,000
- Less than two months: P4,000
