COMELEC TO TRAIN MORE THAN 186K TEACHERS FOR 2025 ELECTIONS

Manila, Philippines — In preparation for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections in May, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will train a total of 186,574 teachers who will serve as electoral board members during the poll.

Comelec Human Resources and Technical Support Group head Dir. Margaret Ching said that these teachers will start their training as electoral boards starting March 3 until the 31st.

The training of the teachers are in line with Republic Act No. 10756 which states that the poll body may coordinate with the Department of Education’s non-teaching personnel and other government employees, as well as private school teachers, to render election-related services.

Bigger provinces like Bulacan will have the EB training until over the first week of April as the COMELEC also needs to harmonize the schedule of the training with DepEd’s schedule.
