PBBM NAMES NEW SSS CHIEF

Quezon City, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has formally appointed finance and investment veteran Victor Alfonso A. Limlingan as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Social Security System (SSS).

Limlingan has a long history and experience in finance, investment, risk management, entrepreneurship and public service, given the previous positions he held related to the industry.

Since November 2024, he has served as a Member of the Social Security Commission (SSC), the SSS’ policy-making governing body, representing the employers’ group.

The SSC’s role goes beyond from overseeing SSS policy, providing policy direction, supervising management actions, to quasi-judicial functions for cases related to social security coverage, benefits, contributions and penalties under the Social Security Act of 2018.

Limlingan holds a degree in Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, majoring in history and humanities, from the Ateneo de Manila University.

This is on top of his experience as the managing director of Regina Capital Development Corp., and as former chair of the Risk Oversight Committee at the Development Bank of the Philippines.

He also served as senior vice president at Small Business Corp., with his work forcused on financial-recovery initiatives for small enterprises and treasury-investment optimization.

As the new chief of SSS, Limlingan expressed commitment into prioritizing the enhancement and expansion of member loan programs, as well as the improvement of the investment portfolio’s risk-adjusted returns, and the relaunch of the Pension Booster Program.

He succeeded Robert Joseph Montes de Claro, who was recently appointed as the new secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
