Manila, Philippines — Group of city and provincial buses operators in Metro Manila calls on to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to approve P2 hike in fare.
The group noted that the fare hike they are seeking is to recover their losses due to high costs of fuel, toll and terminal fees.
They argued that this may be the right time to impose a fare hike, given that the last approved increase in bus fares was three years ago in 2022.
If granted, the base fare for ordinary city buses will increase to P15, while P17 for the air-conditioned buses.
Petition hikes in provincial bus fares are also set on at least P2.
LTFRB is set to release their decision for both the petitioned fare hike on jeepneys and buses in 45 days.
