Pasay City, Philippines — Malacañang confirmed this Tuesday that Interpol Manila received the arrest warrant against former President Rodrigo Duterte.
This follows the Philippine National Police’s reception and arrest of the former president at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
According to Malacañang’s statement, the arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court against Duterte was received early this morning.
At 9:20 am this Tuesday, former president duterte and his group arrived in Manila from Hong Kong aboard Cathay Pacific CX 907.
Based on the ICC’s arrest warrant issued on March 7, 2025, the international court ordered Duterte’s arrest for violating article 25 (3)(a) of the statute for the crime against humanity of murder, in pursuance of article 7 (1) (a) of the statute.
The warrant states that the document is classified as secret but can be disclosed upon service of the arrest warrant on the former president.
Upon Duterte’s arrival with his family from Hong Kong, he was immediately met by the PNP and taken to the 250th presidential airlift wing Col. Jesus Villamor air base in Pasay City, where duterte will remain temporarily.
