The Coast Guard District Palawan advised fishermen, mariners, and coastal communities about possible rocket debris falling into Philippine waters during China’s scheduled Long March 12 launch on November 6.
Based on an advisory referenced from the Philippine Space Agency, the rocket is set to launch from the Hainan International Commercial Launch Center in Wenchang, China, between 5:10 and 5:39 a.m. Philippine time.
The Coast Guard said one of the identified debris drop zones is approximately 25 nautical miles from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, and 19 nautical miles from the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park.
Fishermen and vessels operating near the affected areas are advised to remain alert and exercise extreme caution. They are also urged to consider changing their routes or suspending activities in areas that may be affected by falling debris.
Coast Guard stations and operating units have been directed to monitor the situation and inform maritime stakeholders within their respective areas.
The public is also advised to follow official updates from the Philippine Coast Guard and other concerned government agencies.
