MANILA – Former Senator Leila de Lima has voiced her support for the senatorial bids of her allies and former senators Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Bam Aquino.
De Lima was in attendance, alongside former Representative Erin Tañada, at the Manila Hotel Tent City on Tuesday—the same day Pangilinan submitted his certificate of candidacy for senator.
“Senators like Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino truly deserve a return to the Senate.
Their qualities, character, hard work, and track record are undeniable,” De Lima shared with reporters outside the filing venue.
“Let’s bring them back to the Senate so that the discussions there can be more meaningful. Their presence will contribute to crafting laws that can benefit our people.
It’s a big advantage to have individuals like them back,” she added.
De Lima mentioned that they are entering the 2025 elections with renewed optimism, despite the results of the 2022 polls.
“I think we are more prepared now. We feel more confident, and the members of the Liberal Party and the opposition have a stronger resolve,” she said.
Last Saturday, De Lima also filed a certificate of nomination and acceptance for the Mamamayang Liberal Party-list alongside fellow nominees Tañada and Teddy Baguilat.
