Manila, Philippines — In line with the upcoming 124th celebration of Labor Day on May 1, more than 115,000 job vacancies will be offered by various employers from different industries participating in nationwide job fairs organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for job seekers.
According to DOLE, 88 job fair sites are being prepared for the said date, while an estimated more than 1,280 local employers are expected to take part, with the number still expected to increase before Labor Day.
Among the job opportunities available at the job fair are positions from the BPO industry, wholesale and retail, manufacturing, construction, business process outsourcing, and accommodation for food service sectors.
Vacant positions such as production workers and operators, sales clerks, foremen, service crews, customer service representatives, baristas, and many others will also be offered during the event.
The job fairs are usually held in malls as simultaneous activities, making them open to the public and more accessible to job seekers.
In Metro Manila, 13 job fair sites will be launched on May 1, while two will be held in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), six in Region I, three in Region II, eight in Region III, one in CALABARZON, and four in MIMAROPA.
Aside from these, here are additional job fair locations.
Meanwhile, even before May 1, several job fairs have already been launched in other parts of the country and are open to job seekers.
After Labor Day on May 1, job fairs will continue until May 4 at SM Valenzuela and Alabang Central Market.
On May 15, job fairs will also be held at WalterMart Quezon City and SM North EDSA.
Similar activities are also scheduled on other dates throughout the month of May.
