NOVELETA, CAVITE ROAD PROJECT NEARS 50% COMPLETION — SEC. DIZON

Noveleta, Philippines – A long-delayed road project in Noveleta, Cavite is now nearing 50% completion following an order to speed up construction.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon personally inspected the Manila-Cavite Road in Noveleta on July 21 after months of complaints over the road’s poor condition and slow progress.

The road is narrow and serves as a major route for commuters and motorists traveling to and from the nearby town of Noveleta–Cavite City.

Residents said travel through the area could take more than an hour, especially when parts of Noveleta are flooded.

After seeing the condition of the road, Dizon ordered construction to continue around the clock, or 24/7.

When he returned during the first week of September, Dizon said construction had improved significantly, from just six percent progress to nearly half of the project being completed.

“From 6%, nasa halos 50% na tayo. Sabi ho ni Pangulo, kailangan tutukan ‘to kasi kawawa ‘yong mga kababayan natin. Tuluy-tuloy ‘yong 24/7 na trabaho.,” he said.

Dizon inspected the project with Cavite Governor Abeng Remulla, Vice Governor Ram Revilla Bautista and Noveleta Vice Mayor Dino Chua.

The 24/7 rebuilding work is continuing, with the project targeted for completion before Undas.
