Washington, USA — United States President Donald Trump assured that the ongoing peace deal negotiations between the United States and Iran remain in a good position.
In separate Truth Social posts, the US President responded to and pushed back against criticisms surrounding the negotiations.
According to reports, some of the criticism came from Republican officials who expressed concern that the agreement could only strengthen Iran’s military capabilities.
Others also warned that the deal might give Tehran an opportunity to continue pursuing its nuclear ambitions.
Despite this, Trump insisted that the negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner.
He also said that relations between the United States and Iran are becoming more professional and productive as discussions continue.
It can be recalled that last week, the United States was reportedly preparing to carry out an attack against Iran, but the operation was called off following appeals from several Gulf Arab officials to allow more time for negotiations.
He also said he was willing to wait for a “limited period of time.”
Thus in his recent post, he instructed his representatives not to rush the agreement for both sides to carefully think through every step to avoid mistakes.
On the other hand, the US President also compared the current negotiations to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal signed under former US President Barack Obama.
Slamming it as one of the worst deals made by the United States because it provided Iran with massive funding and opened a path for Tehran to develop nuclear weapons.
Because of this, Trump assured that the current deal being negotiated would be the exact opposite of the previous administration’s agreement.
He also clarified that negotiations are still not fully completed and that no one yet knows the full details of the agreement, urging the public not to listen to what he
described as “losers” who allegedly know nothing about the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Trump once again stressed that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons as part of the condition.
At the same time, he said the US blockade on the Strait of Hormuz will remain in effect until a final agreement is officially reached.
