Manila, Philippines — Amid the back and forth political jabs between the two highest officials of the country, it has significantly impacted the perception of the public on their performance as leaders of the nation.

And despite the ongoing impeachment trial and other allegations, Vice President Sara Duterte continue to enjoy the support and trust of majority of Filipinos.

On the September 2026 Ulat ng Bayan Survey relased by Pulse Asia Research on October 15, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Duterte were given ratings by 2,400 individuals over their performance and trustworthiness as leaders.

30% of the participants APPROVED the performance of Marcos. Consequently, Marcos received higher DISAPPROVAL ratings at 49%.

His approval ratings were highest at Luzon, while the disapproval score is highest at Mindanao.

Meanwhile, 54% of Filipinos APPROVED Duterte’s performance as the Vice President, while 27% DISAPPROVED.

VP Sara’s approval ratings were the highest at Mindanao with 91%, while 42% of her disapproval scores were from National Capital Region.

On the other hand, in terms of trustworthiness, the same survey revealed that majority of Filipinos found Duterte more trustworthy compared to Marcos.

55% trusts the VP more, while the President only received 29%.

Consequently, 48% said that they have LITTLE to NO TRUST to Marcos, while Duterte only received 27% of distrust.

Similar to the first premise of the survey, majority of Mindanawons or 94% expressed big trust to the Vice President. Mindanao is a known terittory of the Dutertes.

Meanwhile, Marcos received the highest trust points from Luzon with 43%.

Marcos and Duterte’s disapproval ratings were the highest at Mindanao (66%) and NCR (41%) respectively.

Despite the gap in scores, it can be noted that Marcos’ performance and trust ratings went slightly higher than of July’s survey, while Duterte demonstrated slight decline in both aspects.
