Manila, Philippines – A majority of Filipinos still support the government in defending Philippine territory, including the highly disputed West Philippine Sea.
In Octa Research’s Tugon ng Masa first quarter survey, 76% of adult Filipinos agreed to protect Philippine territory.
17% were undecided while 7% disagreed.
In the National Capital Region (NCR), 83% were recorded as ready to defend Philippine Territory, 77% in Balance Luzon, 68% in Visayas and 75% in Mindanao.
According to the study, MIMAROPA or Region 4-B had the highest support at 93%, followed by 91% from Caraga, 90% from Western Visayas and 45% from Central Visayas, the lowest from all regions.
The study, commissioned by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), on how Filipinos stand on defending the Philippine territory and sovereignty, including the West Philippine Sea.
