The Commission on Elections has approved the use of its official seal in the upcoming film “2 Valid IDs,” which highlights the difficulties some Filipinos face when securing important documents.
In a statement, COMELEC said it gave the production the go-signal to use the seal during the film’s principal photography.
“This approval was granted in recognition of the real-world documentation hurdles depicted in the film, challenges that the Commission itself has actively confronted and addressed,” the COMELEC said.
COMELEC added that voter certification has been free of charge since 2022 under the leadership of Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

“The poll body also warned against illegal fixers and the use of counterfeit documents, saying reports of such activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” it said.
It reminded the public that voter registration and voter certification are free.
Those who encounter fixers may report them to the Office of the Chairman through ocgemg@comelec.gov.ph, the 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center, or the Anti-Red Tape Authority.
