MARCOS ORDERS CONGRESS TO PASS ANTI-DYNASTY BILL, 3 OTHER TOP PRIORITY MEASURES

Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered Congress to pass four priority bills.

This was during the president’s meeting with the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) at Malacañang Palace on Tuesday.

The priority bills include the Anti-Dynasty bill; Independent People’s Commission Act bill; Party-list System Reform Act bill; and the Citizens Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability or CADENA Act bill which aims for transparency and accountability in public finances.

The LEDAC Meeting was attended by Senate President Vicente Sotto III, House Speaker Faustino Dy III, Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos and other Congressional leaders.

According to the Palace Press Office and Undersecretary Claire Castro, the LEDAC agreed on the timely passage of the 2026 General Appropriations Act and the submission of proposed measures for the president to sign, before these bills were enacted into law.

The president’s order is amid the ongoing investigation into corruption in the multi-billion peso flood control project.

But according to the Bayan Muna group, if the president is really serious about reform, he should certify these measures as urgent.

These four proposed measures have long been being lobbied by the Bayan Muna group and the Makabayan Bloc in Congress.—Alvin Pelobello, Eurotv News
