Manila, Philippines – The government has launched various reintegration programs for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were displaced due to the conflict in the Middle East.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. formally attended the activity centered on giving new opportunities to returning OFWs.

The program includes the “Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa National Reintegration Network Regional Fair” and “Balik Turo: A Hero’s Journey Way Home” which aims to bring government services closer to OFWs.

This is the second pilot program in Tacloban City and will follow at Koronadal City. Also present at the program were Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, Overseas Workers Welfare Administrator PY Caunan, representatives from the Technical Educational Skills and Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment and other agencies.

There are also government partnered agencies that were invited for local employment of skilled OFWs and other livelihood programs.

According to DMW, up to 2,500 local and overseas job opportunities can be applied for by OFWs in partnership with private recruitment agencies.
