NEW BATCH OF REPATRIATES FROM KUWAIT SAFELY RETURN TO PH AMID MIDDLE EAST TENSION

Manila, Philippines — On Friday morning, May 15, another batch of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Kuwait safely returned to the Philippines, as part of the continous repatriation efforts of the government amid the tension in the Middles East.

The Department of Migrant Workers reported that this batch consists of 313 OFWs and 6 dependents who applied for the repatriation program.

They returned together with DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan who visited Kuwait on May 13 to personally ensure welfare of Filipino workers.

During their visit in Kuwait, DMW and OWWA conducted a briefing and orientation with OFWs and the Filipino Community to discuss the reintegration programs and services of the govenrment, as well as to ensure the preparations for their home coming.

According to OQQA, over 2,800 have received repatriation services in Manila, and over 300 financial assistance were given by the Migrant Workers Office in Kuwait.

100 OFWs IN DUBAI SUCCESSFULLY RETURNS TO PH

On the same day, a separate group of OFWs from Dubai have also returned to the Philippines.

As they landed, they were given immediate post repatriation services, including financial aid, medical assistance, accommodation, and transportation assisatance as they return to their provinces.

This is still aside from the reintegration programs and services provided for them, including livelihood assitance, job opportunities, skills training and more as they settle in the Philippines.
